Product Introduction

Shell & tube condenser is the most common type of condensers in oil refineries and other large chemical processes, and is suited for higher-pressure applications. It consists of a shell with a bundle of tubes inside it. One fluid runs through the tubes, and another fluid flows over the tubes  (through the shell) to transfer heat between the two fluids. Heat is transferred from one fluid to the other through the tube walls, either from tube side to shell side or vice versa. Construction materials for shell & tube condenser by J.H. Equipment are glass-lined steel, stainless steel, borosilicate glass as well as PTFE/PTFE lined carbon steel.
Glass lined shell & tube condenser has excellent corrosive-proof property and able to work under pressure max. 0.6MPa both shell and tube side.

【Application Industries】: Applicable for most acidic corrosive environment that existed in chemical, pharmaceutical, biological, pesticide, dyestuff industries etc.
【Application Mediums】: Various organic and inorganic acids such as sulfuric acid, nitric acid, but not recommended to be used for hydrofluoric acid and hot phosphoric acid with high concentration.

Working Principle

The corrosive medium fluid will go through the shell path where all contact surfaces are glass-lined, while the heating or cooling medium will go through the tube path to avoid contact with corrosive mediums. Heat-exchange will take place on exterior surface of glass lined tubes.
